POLIDORO EXPERIENCE
Combustion characteristics change dramatically when hydrogen comes into play. The design of a burner becomes a challenging engineering task, because the characteristics of this gas are totally different. Many parameters must be taken into account, such as the size of the molecules, the risks of flashback and leakage, control of the air/gas mixture, compatibility of materials, and flame detection, since that of pure hydrogen is totally transparent.
We have a deep know-how in this field. We have been studying hydrogen combustion for more than 10 years, together with universities and research centers. We have simulation codes and fully functional test rooms, to test customers’ devices, thanks to additional power lines, sensors and state-of-the-art safety and analysis systems.
We work closely with the H2 teams present within the major industry associations: EHI, Assotermica and AHRI.
Our burners are already in the field, and are in the main pilot projects related to the use of 100% hydrogen in the residential sector in Europe. We have also developed exclusive and patented solutions, together with several European players.
