PILOT FLAME IGNITION
The pilot burner is automatically ignited at each call for heat and only during this call. This
system requires an electronic ignition control which:
· electrically opens the gas control safety valve (first valve) allowing the gas to flow to the pilot
burner.
· ignites the pilot burner (sparking).
· detects the presence of pilot flame using the ionization/rectification principle.
· opens the gas control main valve (second valve) for the main burner ignition.

If the pilot flame is not detected, the main valve remains closed.
At the end of the heat cycle, both valves are closed by the electronic ignition control and
therefore the pilot is estinguished.

This system is fully automatic, managed by an electronic ignition control.
Intermittent pilot burner application
with single rod

(for dual rod application, additional
sensing electrode is mounted, when
possible)
